Lucid Dreaming Made Easy

The Meaning of Your Dream

The Meaning of Your Dream We have been searching for the meaning of our dreams since the beginning of mankind. We have learned where our dreams come from, and quite often what caused us to have a particular dream. We have many types of dreams ranging from the exotic or sexual dream to very frightening dreams. We see images, hear sounds, and sometime can feel sensations in our dreams. There are times when we hear voices in our dreams that we cannot control. We know all of these things about dreaming, but we have not yet learned why we dream. Do dreams have special meanings? Are dreams brought on by incidents that happened during the day, or during this week or month? Although we do not know why we dream, and we certainly have plenty of theories, we are still looking for the answer. We know dreams originate in the brain, but do not understand what the neurological cause is. We do know there are 5 phases of sleep and that we dream in all of them. Most believe dreams are reflections of the subconscious mind, and some believe they are predictions of the future. There are even some people [...]

Field of Dreams

Not too long ago we Americans became quite certain that our lifestyle represented the pinnacle of civilized progress and the best in scientific and technological advancement. What we as a nation had achieved, so we thought, was a dream come true. And it is this ‘American Dream’ that we have held out to (or perhaps thrust upon) the rest of the world as the genuine meaning of the ‘good life’ and the proper goal or end of human existence. After all, it was our economics, our politics, our science and technology that conceived of and articulated this ‘dream world’ to begin with… a world of personal automobiles in every garage, single family homes with private fenced yards, well designed and manicured suburbs, credit cards on demand, all the latest modern conveniences, electronic gadgets and games galore for children and adults alike. So now that the world is facing multiple crises of global proportions – environmentally, ecologically, financially, economically, politically, psychologically and spiritually – where do we lay the blame? Where do we look to better understand the roots of such crises? While pursuit of the American Dream may be initially fingered as a proximate cause of our global crisis, we [...]

The Revelation of Dreams

The beauty of one’s dream is behind the symbolic representation it. These symbolic and visual representations are explained in many theories of psychology. It is used to analyze, and interpret the hidden meaning of one’s dream. There are so many theories about dreams. They try to explain analyze and interpret why such a dream occurred. Many prominent names in the field of psychology are the proponents of these theories. Some of these psychologists are Sigmund Freud also known as the father of psychoanalysis. Alfred Adler coined the term inferiority complex. Calvin S. Hall and Ann Faraday also studied dreams. Their theories about dream analysis and dream interpretation led in the advancement of psychoanalysis and the field of psychology. Freud’s Dream Theory Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, developed the theory entitled “The Interpretation of Dreams.” This theory is about the interaction of the three aspects of mind-the superego, the ego and the id. The superego is the opposite of id which serves as the sensor or conscience of a person. The ego is the rational aspect of the person or mind. Last is the id, the earthly aspect of mind. It consists of egocentric desires of the person. The id [...]

Understanding the Meaning of Your Dreams

Often people wonder why we have dreams and whether or not they really mean anything significant and chances are you will hear all kinds of responses to the question. What does it mean when you falling in a dream? What does it mean when your dream takes place in your own home or apartment? What does it mean when you fly in your dreams? These are all questions that we will look at here and try to come up with a few ideas as to what such dreams could mean. The first common dream we’ll take a look at is the dream of falling. Many, many people experience this type of dream and I am sure we have all heard different interpretations of it. Although a dream of falling can have some significance it often means nothing at all but rather is a reaction your body has as your drifting off(or falling) to sleep. In some cases though a dream such as this can signify a personal sense of failure in some aspect of one’s life. Sleeping with the feet against the wall or with a pillow or other object touching the soles of the feet may give a sense [...]

The Mystery of Dreams

Despite the multitude of expert studies today, it has not been settled why we dream at all. It is basically understood that dreams are coordinated imageries and sensations of all the brain’s functions that consolidate during the process of sleep. It is also possible to propose that these imageries form as the entire body undergoes its recuperative, rebuilding, and rebalancing task for cells and certain faculties. But what is yet unexplained is how and why do dreams provide somewhat prophetic images that relate to future experiences, as they do past experiences, including situations that occur even as the individual is yet deep in sleep. Scientists will most likely refer to the human body’s ability to be aware even in its state of sleep. Many of us, they will assert, perceive the one asleep as an appliance turned off. In such as state, it contributes nothing to the environment for the moment. The mistake lies in the assumption that it is unresponsive to stimuli that threaten the dreamer’s survival. Dream is just one facility that alarms us of an external hazard. How this occurs may depend on the body’s ability to respond during a certain situation. Even in more ancient times, [...]

Another Example of Dream Interpretation

In some of my past articles I have discussed the principles for interpreting dreams, given an example of dream interpretation, and written about why we should listen to our dreams. With dreams being both an important means of God communicating with us and because dream interpretation is generally a rather misunderstood concept, I felt it would be good to provide another example of God communicating through dreams. Below is an example of dream interpretation involving a co-worker of mine, a lady who used to edit my materials and take Bible school classes from me at my Christian university and online Bible college. She came to me with the following dream: In the dream, she entered her house and smelled smoke. She went upstairs looking for the fire but she couldn’t find it. Then she looked downstairs, but could not find it. She went into the kitchen and the smoke smell was stronger. She opened upper kitchen cabinets and could not find the fire. She opened the lower kitchen cabinets, flames leapt out, and she awoke. At the time, we could not understand what the dream was saying. Two months later, she went to the doctors with an intestinal ailment which [...]

Judging the Sources of Dreams

God lives. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. We see He spoken to people in the ancient times in the Bible, therefore, we know that He still speaks today. One of the ways which He speaks is through dreams and visions. When we talk about this, the most frequently asked question is: How could we know whether the dream or vision was from God or just our own imaginations? The answer to this question is of vital importance, because if we lack knowledge about this issue, we are likely to fall into two extremes which are serious mistakes. One is to discard all the dreams or visions we see, disbelieving God is willing to communicate with you by these means. Then we might be ignoring importance messages from God. 1 Thessalonians 5:20 “Despise not prophesyings.” This commands us to treat every revelation seriously. The other extreme is equally bad, if not worse, which is to treat all the dreams or mental pictures as divine revelations. Jeremiah 23 clearly rebukes the abuse of dream interpretations. If anyone treated a normal dream as the word of God and preach it. He is called a false prophet. The sentence is death. [...]

Field of Dreams – If you believe the impossible, the incredible can come true

I watched the film Field of Dreams again recently and some of the quotes just came to life for me and made me reflect on where I am in my own life. “All his life, Ray Kinsella (main character in the film) was searching for his dreams. Then one day, his dreams came looking for him.” For those that haven’t seen the movie if you are searching for inspiration on what can happen when you believe this is a truly inspirational movie ! I won’t say more or it will give the game away but I’ve included some of the lines which made me stop and think. Around 2 years ago I was working in a safe corporate job where I had worked for some 20 years and then I was made redundant. Looking back this was the catalyst to a new life and future but at the time seemed the worst thing in the world ! You know when you spend time dreaming what your future would look like if you weren’t tied down with a 9-5 job? Well suddenly this was my reality – I may have dreamed of not working, being independent, having no-one to answer to [...]

The Meaning Behind Dreams

What is The Meaning Behind Dreams? Are you asking the question what is the “meaning behind dreams?” because you have had a recurring dream, a nightmare or one that felt real? Do you ask “meaning behind dreams because something inside you knows that your subconscious mind is trying to tell you something? For centuries people have wanted to know the meaning behind dreams and sought the advice of dream interpreters. Sages and High Priests of ancient cultures were thought to be blessed by deities or to hold mystical powers because they could interpret the meaning behind dreams. Even in the 21st Century we realize that the meaning behind dreams are important and can aid us in our normal waking activities. Are you aware of how little information you can store consciously at any one time? You can only hold up to seven bits of information in the conscious mind at one time. Your subconscious mind, however, can hold millions of bits of information every second! This information is then stored for processing at a time when there is no interference from the conscious mind. When you dream the subconscious accesses much of this information and begins to process it which [...]
